His Miami food blog and Instagram are known for creating some of the most delicious looking food pictures and videos today.
For Nico, experiencing the best Miami food and events are all part of a day’s work.
Sounds like the perfect job, right?
How did he get there?
We are going to introduce you to Nico, and show you a behind-the-scenes look at building a foodie empire!
Who Is Nico Norene From Succulent Bite?
Despite popular belief, not all people with thousands of followers on social media are jerks. There are some that are probably more down-to-earth than most of us.
Nico is one of those people – genuine and honest.
He’s the guy who started and runs The Succulent Bite.
Nico has worked hard for everything he has, including his popularity today.
Before The Succulent Bite
Like most of us, Nico was your average kid who loved social media, photos, film and eating.
For anyone born within the last 30 years, you can usually relate.
Nico’s food obsession started at a young age, and he said, “My passion for eating began when I was about 3 months old (or so I have been told)”.
The truth is, we are all addicted to food – dependent on it. But for Nico, this desire is a bit more intense.
As for photos and film, Nico was given his first camera at the age of 4 years old.
Just like that, the ingredients for his future food fame were baked together and started him off in a direction that would later guide his career.
Nico later attended Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, FL where he studied Business Administration with a major in Marketing along with a certification in Sales.
Yep, a foodie studied business!
His favorite class was sales because he said, “It taught me some of the most valuable business and life essentials”.
Nico graduated with his Bachelors in December of 2016.
Humble Beginnings Of The Succulent Bite
Succulent Bite started in 2015 when Nico was in his 3rd year of college.
Having a business background and experience in sales and media, he took his talents and used them to talk about food.
His Instagram was not an overnight success.
Today, we see the amazing food, videos and events. Not to mention his huge following. However, that came with a price.
Nico dedicated thousands of hours to posting yummy food content and meeting the right people.
He had to learn new media strategies and develop his skills to become a food account that was worth looking at.
It has not been easy for Nico over the last three years. After finishing school, he got a full-time sales job as a sales rep.
Yes, the man behind the Succulent Bite with more than 229k followers has a full-time job!
I’ve said this before, but just because you have a lot of followers doesn’t mean you are rich or have an easy life.
Weekly, Nico has to invest dozens of hours into his food blog all while maintaining his full-time sales job.
That is real commitment!
During an interview with Nico, I had the opportunity to ask him the following, “We all struggle to continue our passions when things get hard. What’s your biggest motivation?”
Nico answered, “I absolutely agree. In my opinion, it is very important to persevere and have a clear goal in mind. If you are passionate about what you do and are doing what you love, you will reach your goal through hard work and dedication. My biggest motivation is the feeling of satisfaction every time I see people’s reactions to my posts and content! Especially when I run into someone who follows my page and how they express all the love for Succulent Bite!”
The Succulent Bite Today
After all Nico’s hard work, he has amassed a following on Instagram of over 229k followers and it’s still growing. On top of that, he has a food blog and host events locally here in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
For example, Succulent Bite just hosted an event called Friday Feels. It was at the Betsy Hotel, located in the heart of Ocean Drive. Nico had several food and alcohol sponsors, as well as 200 guests in attendance throughout the night.
Even though Nico is always busy, his passion for food has not been filled.
During our interview, I asked Nico, “If you could only eat three different meals for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?”
Nico answered, “Oh I have definitely thought about that! First and foremost, TACOS! If I could have an unlimited supply of authentic taco variations I would eat this every day! (Especially if they are accompanied by a side of fresh chopped habanero peppers). Second in the list is Nutella. As typical as it may be, I think I can have endless amounts of this delicious creation! Last but not least, SUSHI. Having a different sushi roll every day would make me extra happy. So basically Nutella creations for breakfast, tacos for lunch, and sushi for dinner!”
