Miami’s Food Podcast
There are a few Miami foodies that stand out more than others, mostly because they are special or have a niche that separates them from the pack.
The Food-e is one of those unique Miami food blogs because it’s doing something out of the foodie norm.
Have you ever heard of a food podcast?
Food is traditionally something you eat, but if you can’t eat it, then you’ll usually settle for pictures. Obviously, we all love lusting after a yummy photo of donuts or burgers.
In my opinion, that’s why Instagram is such a huge success – thanks to food!
However, The Food-e went a different route. He took his radio skills and used them to build a successful food podcast.
Who Is The Man Behind The Food-e?
Nick, started his food journey 5 years ago in 2013 when he decided that food was his passion.
Between family and friends encouraging him and his love to try new foods, The Food-e was born.
Nick is a radio producer for Y-100 (iHeart Radio). Maybe you know him?
Yep, he’s a little famous!
His career in radio and media gave him the perfect foundation to build a Food-e blog and podcast.
But he had lots of planning and growth to do along the way.
The Food-e Blog
All great things have humble beginnings and The Food-e blog is no different.
In 2013, The Food-e started out like all other food blogs and Instagram accounts – small and slow. Between Nick’s full-time job and family, he had to commit to developing quality blog post and photos of food.
His passion for local businesses and food kept him accountable, and 4 years later he amassed a following of over 16k on his Instagram.
The Famous Food-e Podcast
Because of Nick’s job at Y-100, he had the experience and contacts to create a professional radio show.
Nick decided to make a big move and launch his food-e podcast.
The debut episode aired on September 19th, 2017 and featured Chef Lorena Garcia as she talked about her new restaurant in Vegas.
It was a hit!
Each episode features:
– Chefs or food influencer
– A cocktail of the week with Chat Chow TV and how to make it at home
– Up-to-date food news
One of our favorite podcasts is episode 14.
The Food-e invited his local foodie friends to a round table where they talked about holiday dinners, Nochebuena and even new year resolutions.
If you are a local Miami food lover, you will quickly relate to the conversation and laugh right along with them.
The Food-e Today
Nick has plans to build his podcast, blog and social media following even larger. His strategies are still in the works, but after talking to him, believe me, he has some great episodes ahead.
In addition, The Food-e is hosting several events and promoting local restaurants and chefs. Nick is genuinely passionate about helping the Miami food scene and gladly posts about the places he loves to eat.
